MANNERS – DINNER TIMES!

In an ideal world, with perfectly behaved children…. Pffft who am I kidding! I have three kids, so therefore there is never a PERFECT time, especially at meal times… where they are all BEHAVING – Yep, there is always at least 1 that I am having to say something too during dinner times, and quite often it is all three because they all mimic each other thinking it is hilarious, and It seems that the angrier I get with them (like eating brocolini with their fingers and letting it hang out of their mouths) the funnier they think it is!

These are the things I say, and usually yell… at points throughout dinner! What feels like EVERY BLOODY NIGHT!!

Wash hands before Dinner

Use your FORK!!! Not fingers

Wait for everyone to finish

Sit on that chair properly…

Chew with your mouth closed

Don’t speak with your mouthful

Slurping is rude – stop!

C’mon try really hard not to burp, fart or blow bubbles in your drink

Ask to leave the table and TRY remember to say THANK YOU for Dinner

Take plates to the sink … NEVER happens!

My kids and dinner table manners – sometime I think I am raising animals – I swear I repeat myself THAT many times throughout dinner, I know I sound like a broken record, and I feel like it goes in one ear and out the other… however they do go to friends’ and family members homes for meals, and I have been told they are in fact well-mannered – so I guess if they are polite, and well-behaved for everyone else except myself, I should consider myself lucky! Maybe…(although they are probably lying to me- who says yeah your kids a shits! LOL )

I must admit, I am really looking forward to the time I can sit around a table with them – when they all do as they are told, eat everything that is served, and me not having to raise my voice…. But for now… DON'T PICK YOU NOSE AT THE DINNER TABLE... is where I am at - and all I can do.. is laugh!

Hxx
